Mary Wamucii Kinyari Muchiri AKA Baruthi Wa Kĩrĩgĩrĩro is a gospel artist and a Kikuyu radio presenter currently working at Iganjo FM now (MUOROTO) She has worked on her brand as a radio presenter for years . All through this journey, she has grown in terms of her social media followers and also how she does her broadcasting.
Wamucii who is the first born in her family was born and raised in Kigogo-ini, Tetu, Nyeri County. She is a great woman of God whose story is inspiring to many surprisingly she gave her life to Christ while in form two.
Her life and career has not been a walk in the park. Growing up she wanted to be a journalist or a guidance and counseling expert but her Dad was against it, in that she ended up studying computer engineering after her form four.
A woman of resilience she is, prior to landing to the airwaves. Wamucii wa Kinyari started off by selling socks and working in a hotel while investing in her spiritual belief that indeed God created her to excel in life and not be a victim of ill luck where she was hustling to get her basic needs.
Wamucii started off her broadcasting journey at Kameme FM, without any journalism skill yet she applied as a presenter at Kameme in 2004 she did not get what she wanted at that time but got a job as a marketer at Kameme,a job she used to climb up the ladder of success.
Lucy Ngunjiri a gospel show presenter at Kameme FM and a servant of God really held her hand and mentored her in the broadcasting journey. Wamucii has worked in the Marketing department at Coro FM, Inooro FM as a Voice over artists and as also a gospel show presenter at Kameme FM. All this while she still was investing in her musical career.
Her Nyeri accent is one of the things that really held her back from getting into the airwaves earlier until the year 2015. She hosted " Kumatha Ngai" , "Rwiga rwa Kiroho" shows at Kameme Fm. Her voice became a staple and listeners of Kameme FM became fond of her other segments " Kwigagura Kiroho" and "Riri Ruo-ini" ... A journey of 11 Years of hardship ,being laid off from one media station to the other and many other challenges, to the moment she was leaving her previous place of work her salary was 28,000 Kenyan Shillings.
Wamucii wa Kinyari spread the gospel through radio, her music and gathered a massive following while at it - She became a 'digital' preacher who reached the hearts of worshipers from far and wide.
Wamucii is a strong believer of God's working hard principles and working smart. Above all Wamucii is a family woman ,she’s married and was recently blessed with a second born.
